Residence Hall Move-In and Move-Out at Texas State

Texas State’s Department of Housing and Residential Life assigns move-in appointments, and for fall 2026 residence hall move-in ran August 14 to 16. At the end of the year, the housing contract ends 24 hours after a student’s last final exam in May, and students schedule a check-out appointment with their RA. That leaves a short window to get everything out, which is exactly when a planned move helps. Check the university’s current dates each year, because they change.

The San Marcos campus is built on a hill, and many halls involve stairs, ramps and long walks from where a vehicle can stop. We go over the hall, floor and unloading rules during the pre-move survey and plan the crew and timing to match.

Apartment Moves Across San Marcos

Many Texas State students live off campus after their first year, and the main student-housing areas each have their own challenges:

Sessom Drive and the streets near campus: walkable to class, with hills, stairs and tight parking.
Aquarena Springs Drive: large complexes near the river and I-35.
Post Road: a big cluster of student complexes north of campus, with long walks from parking to units.
Craddock Avenue and Wonder World Drive: student complexes on the west and south sides of town.

Small Moves and Furniture Assembly

A student move might be a bed, a desk, a dresser and a few boxes. We pad and wrap every piece, take apart what will not fit through a door or up a stairwell, and put it back together in the new place. We also take single-item moves, and we assemble new flat-pack furniture that is still in the box.

We don’t offer storage of any kind, including summer storage. We move your things straight from one address to the next.
