Student Moves We Handle

Dorm and residence hall moves: move-in at the start of the year and move-out after finals, planned around the check-in time slot your hall gives you.
Apartment moves: from a residence hall to a first apartment, between off-campus apartments, or out of a student apartment after graduation. See our apartment movers page for more.
Moves between home and campus: loading at your family’s home and setting up at school, then bringing everything home again when the year ends.
Small moves: a bedroom set, a desk and a few boxes, or a studio apartment. We also take single-item moves, like one mattress, one desk or one couch.
Furniture assembly: we take apart and put back together beds, desks, dressers and shelves, and we assemble new flat-pack furniture that is still in the box, so the new room is ready to live in.

We don’t offer storage of any kind, including summer storage. We move your things straight from one address to the next.

Parents Moving a Student In or Out From Out of State

Many families fly or drive in from another state for move-in weekend. We pick up at your family’s home out of state, bring everything to campus, and bring it all back home at the end of the year. Out-of-state homes still get a pre-move survey, done by video call, so you can walk us through what is moving before you travel. Booking a Student Move

Move-in and move-out days: we work the mid-August move-in weekends and the days after May finals, and early starts are possible.
Parents can book and pay: a parent can book and pay for the move while the student is the one there on move day.
Roommates: we move several roommates on one truck, and each roommate can pay separately.
Certificate of insurance: if an apartment building asks for one, we can provide it.

How a Student Move Works With Us

Pre-move survey. We go over what is moving, the stairs and elevators at both ends, and the parking or unloading rules. In person or by video call, and by video call for out-of-state homes.
A plan built around the school’s calendar. Halls assign check-in slots and set move-out deadlines after finals, and off-campus leases have fixed start and end dates. We schedule around those dates instead of making you work around ours.
Move day. Hector Jr leads the crew. We pad and wrap furniture, protect floors and door frames, and set up beds and desks before we leave.

Book Early for Move-In and Move-Out Season

Late summer and the weeks after spring finals are the busiest times of year for student moves, because residence halls open and close on fixed dates and many off-campus leases turn over at the same time. Booking a few weeks ahead gives you a better chance at the day and arrival time you want.
