These are the questions customers ask us most. Elite Star Movers is a family owned and operated moving company based in Buda, with 20+ years of experience, serving all areas around Austin and down the I-35 corridor to San Antonio. What areas do you serve?
We serve all areas around Austin, north, south, east, and west, plus the I-35 corridor through Buda, Kyle, San Marcos, New Braunfels, and San Antonio. We also handle long-distance moves in Texas and out of state. See our area list.
How are local moves priced?
Local moves are priced by the hour based on the size of your crew. Trucks are included, one or several, with no truck fee. Travel time is listed separately on your quote.
How are long-distance moves priced?
Long-distance moves are quoted at a flat rate, with the details confirmed in your written quote. See long distance moving.
Do you do a pre-move survey?
Yes, always. Every move starts with a pre-move survey, where we go over what is moving, access at both homes, and any special items before move day, so the crew, trucks, and plan are right.
How do I get a quote?
Submit your inventory online and we will email you an estimated quote, or call (512) 358-7827. Free in-home estimates are available. Our team returns quote calls.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit and debit cards, Venmo, Zelle, and Apple Pay.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A deposit reserves your move date and is applied in full to your final bill. If you cancel more than 72 hours before your move, your deposit is refunded in full. Full details are on our deposit and cancellation policy page.
Can I reschedule my move?
Yes. If you reschedule more than 72 hours ahead, your deposit moves to your new date. Call (512) 358-7827 or email info@elitestarmovers.com. See our cancellation policy.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Elite Star Movers is licensed with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles as a household goods carrier, TxDMV #007098595c, and insured. We are also BBB-registered.
How can I verify your license?
Go to the official TxDMV Truck Stop lookup at apps.txdmv.gov/apps/mccs/truckstop/, choose Household Goods Carrier, and search our name or certificate number 007098595c. The status should show Active.
How far ahead should I book?
As early as you can, especially for month-end dates and summer, when calendars fill first. If your date is close, call us anyway and we will be upfront about availability.
Do you offer same-day or short-notice moves?
When our calendar allows, yes. Call us and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
Who will be at my move?
Our foreman and crew handle your move, and Hector Jr leads our crews. Our team handles quotes and scheduling. We do not use a separate moving coordinator; the people who plan your move are the people who do it.
How long have you been in business?
Elite Star Movers has 20+ years of experience moving families and businesses in Central Texas. We passed HomeAdvisor’s screening, earning their Elite Service, Top Rated, and Best of 2018 awards.
Do you move single items?
Yes. Single-item moves are welcome, from one piece of furniture to a small load.
Do you move pianos?
Yes. We move upright and grand pianos locally and as part of long-distance moves. See piano movers.
Do you provide packing and boxes?
Yes. We offer full and partial packing and unpacking, and our packing services include boxes, pads, and wrapping materials. See packing services.
Do you take apart and reassemble furniture?
Yes. Beds, tables, desks, and other furniture that comes apart are disassembled and reassembled.
Can you provide a certificate of insurance for my building?
Yes. Send us your building’s COI requirements as early as you can so it is ready before move day.
Can you crate fragile or valuable items?
When a piece needs a custom crate, we can arrange crating through a trusted partner. Crating is not done in-house.
Do you offer storage?
No. Elite Star Movers does not offer storage. We move your belongings from your old place to your new place.
Do you transport cars or other vehicles?
No. We do not transport vehicles.
What can’t you move?
We cannot move hazardous materials such as gasoline, propane tanks, paint, and household chemicals. We recommend you keep cash, jewelry, medications, and important documents with you rather than on the truck.
Do you charge extra for trucks?
No. Local moves have no truck fees, whether your move needs one truck or several.
