Help for Families Who Live Out of State
Many Austin-area parents have children who live in Dallas, Houston or another state entirely. You do not need to fly in for the planning. We do the pre-move survey by video call, so you and your parent can show us the home together and agree on what is moving. An adult child who lives out of state can book and pay for the move while the parent is the one on site on move day. We share the plan in writing, so you know the date, the arrival time and what to expect. If your parent is moving to Austin from another state to be closer to you, see moving to Austin from out of state and long-distance moving.
Heirlooms, Antiques and the Pieces That Matter Most
We treat a family’s favorite furniture the way we would treat our own. Every piece is padded and wrapped, and we protect floors, door frames and elevator walls at both ends. Glass doors, marble tops and table leaves are handled separately when that keeps them safer. Let us know about the pieces with history during the survey, and we will plan how each one moves. For a piano, see our piano movers page.
Packing, Unpacking and Setting Up the New Home
- Packing: full packing or just the kitchen, china, glassware and keepsakes. See our packing services page.
- Furniture disassembly and reassembly: we take apart bed frames, tables, desks and shelving and put them back together at the new home.
- Furniture placement: each piece goes where you want it, with clear walkways.
- Unpacking: we unpack the boxes and put dishes, clothes and everyday things where they belong.
- Pictures, TVs and beds: we hang pictures and TVs and make up the beds with linens, so the new apartment feels like home from the first night.
We don’t offer storage of any kind. We move belongings straight from the current home to the new one.

Working With the Community and Move Day
We coordinate the move-in time and elevator booking with the community, and we can provide a certificate of insurance when the community asks for one. Hector Jr leads the crew. We arrive at the time we planned, walk through the home with your parent or the family member on site, and start with the pieces that need the most care. We work at a calm, steady pace and answer questions as we go.
